EYE EXAM
Adults from the ages of 20-64, should have a regular eye exam at least every 2 years. A complete eye exam includes a vision check as well as ocular health check. The ocular health check will screen for not only eye related conditions, but also for health related diseases such as; high blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, Multiple sclerosis, brain tumors, rheumatoid arthritis and many other conditions.
PEDIATRIC EYE EXAM
During a child’s eye exam, special attention is given to how the eye and brain coordination are functioning together. Lazy eye, eye turns, or other visual problems are signs that a child’s vision is being compromised. Since 80% of learning happens through eyesight, it is important to bring them for eye checkup as early as 6 months of age and yearly after that.
contact lens fitting
The contact lens fitting process at OJO Optical begins with our doctor choosing an initial lens based on your prescription, eye shape, and expected wear time. The fit of a contact lens is checked on the eye which is very important since it may feel comfortable but may be inhibiting oxygen from reaching the eye. The fitting process is complete only after ensuring, on the follow up visit, that the lens of choice is not only healthy for the eye, but also that you are entirely satisfied with the comfort and vision provided by the contact lens.
In most cases, we will have your trial contact lenses in the office for you to try. You will wear these lenses for a week and return to the office for a no-charge follow-up. If you are uncomfortable with the lens, or the doctor finds the lens is a poor fit, an alternative lens is recommended. Once your doctor is content with the fit and vision obtained with the lens, the prescription is finalized.
We offer competitive pricing allowing our patients to purchase lenses at our office. Call our office today at 905-793-5866 to book a contact lens fitting or teaching appointment.
